ORIGINS
Flora Luna’s inception took place in 2015 in the jungles of Costa Rica, when a nascent herbalist made her first (passionflower) essence. She fell in love with this subtle yet potent way of working with nature’s intelligence and began sharing essences with friends. One friend in particular, who happened to be a writer for Vogue, became such a fan of flower essences that she offered an unexpected opportunity to share these lesser known remedies with a much wider circle of friends. And, thus, Flora Luna was born.
In the decade since, founder Alisa Gould-Simon has studied the use of medicinal plants across Southeast Asia, India, the Amazon, and, most importantly, in her backyard in Southern and, now, Northern California. A plant whisperer and vocalist, Alisa is rooted in the healing traditions of Living Herbal Wisdom and Ayurveda. She is also the founder of Become Wind, which shares online and offline spaces for deep listening and song for human and planetary health.
Flora Luna's full moon floral elixirs are handmade in West Sonoma County, California, on the unceded lands of the Southern Pomo and Coastal Miwok, using wild or ethically-harvested, organic flowers.
